With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers.

Position Overview

We are currently hiring a Lead Ornamental Ironworker to manage and execute fabrication and installation projects. This is a key leadership position requiring extensive hands-on experience, strong organizational skills, the ability to guide a crew from start to finish and a passion for the craft. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in MIG and SMAW welding, understands ornamental and structural requirements, and can deliver top-quality results while leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fabrication and installation of handrails, staircases, gates, fencing, and light structural components
• Perform high-quality MIG and SMAW (stick) welding
• Perform self-directed site layout of railings, stairs and other custom projects.
• Perform high quality repairs of railings, stairs and other common items
• Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and site measurements accurately
• Supervise and mentor team members in the shop and in the field
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and timeline standards
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Coordinate with project managers and communicate effectively with clients when needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of ornamental ironwork and welding/fabrication experience
• Proficiency in MIG and SMAW welding
• Ability to lead a crew and manage workflow from fabrication through installation
• Must be able to pass a structural welding certification test
• Strong understanding of ornamental layout, field measuring, and fabrication techniques
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. and work in a variety of environments
• Commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong picture portfolio of custom steel projects.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Forklift, heavy equipment or rigging experience
• Familiarity with site coordination and client communication
