Job summary

Runavir is seeking a Database Engineer (DE3) to design, develop, implement, and optimize complex databases in a Linux environment. The role emphasizes Oracle expertise, data architecture, and scalable database systems within a fast-paced project setting.

The incumbent will lead database structure development, create ad hoc queries, and ensure secure, high-performance data storage and retrieval aligned with program requirements.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience as a Database Engineer on similar programs/contracts.
• Extensive Oracle database experience including Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Data Guard.
• Experience with Linux OS, Linux commands, and Bash scripting.
• Experience translating requirements into database schemas, queries, scripts, and macros.
• Experience developing database structures within a broader system architecture, balancing data volume, user load, distribution, performance, retention, and security needs.

Responsibilities

• Support database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, and data flow analysis activities.
• Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts.
• Support the development of long and short term requirements for database administration and design.
• Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Translate requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; update existing queries and create new ones to manipulate data into a master file.
• Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall system architecture.
