Job summary

Molex is seeking a Principal Test Engineer in Fremont to lead test development for high-speed fiber optic transceivers (800G/1.6T/3.2T). You will collaborate with design, hardware and firmware leads to develop calibration algorithms for transmitters and receivers, driving module and test platform innovations in North America.

You will build characterization capabilities, define compliant test definitions, and balance equipment costs, scope and timing to support prototypes, EVT/DVT, and pilot

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–7 years of IMDD and coherent module characterizations.
• Experience with transceiver module DVT activities.
• Familiarity with CMIS and 803.3xx test methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Characterize devices and modules for next-gen optical transceivers for AI/ML across high-density networks.
• Build test capability through setups, DVT/EVT tests and calibration methods.
• Define module tests compliant with customer specs and industry standards.
• Design hardware/software test platforms for early samples and pilot production.
• Coordinate with project managers and purchasing to meet milestones and cost targets.
• Analyze test data and summarize results for broader development teams.
• Provide test support for failure mode analysis across R&D and production.
