Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to lead the design, analysis and development of advanced optical systems for high‑power laser applications. You will work with customers and cross‑functional teams to ensure technical feasibility and robust performance.

You will perform tolerance and phase‑sensitivity analyses, contribute to prototype builds, and collaborate with suppliers on phase modulators and micro‑optics. Strong communication and hands‑on alignment skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Optics with 7+ years of experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in design, manufacture, and assembly of optical systems/optical components/micro‑optics
• U.S. person required under ITAR for work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Lead optical design on projects for high‑power laser systems.
• Design optical systems and test setups for coherent beam combining and phase‑locking.
• Interact with customers to determine feasibility against specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers for phase modulators and micro‑optics.
• Perform tolerance, athermal, and phase‑sensitivity analysis.
• Develop assembly and test methods for prototype and volume manufacturing.
• Document assembly/test processes for knowledge transfer to the team.
