Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• History of bringing engineering concepts into production.
• Experience resolving complex engineering issues independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Measurement and modeling of high-power laser beams and optical systems (free-space and fiber-coupled).
• Provide guidance on optical alignment techniques, tools, and metrology.
• Lead trade studies and analyses for optical system alignment and testing.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineering for optical sensitivity and tolerance analysis.
• Communicate effectively to varied audiences and document optical designs.
• Infrequent travel to Attalon facilities in the continental U.S.
