Job summary

Heartland Automotive LLC in Lafayette, IN fabricates and assembles structural products on the production floor according to job orders or verbal instructions. The role involves using power tools, reading work instructions, and verifying parts against specifications.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of related experience in manufacturing or equivalent training.
• High safety awareness and use of hand tools.
• Basic knowledge of computers and Excel functions.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents.
• Mathematical skills for conversions, fractions, percentages, ratios.
• Ability to work with others and communicate with management.
• Capable of analyzing data and identifying process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of tools to fabricate items on the production floor, examples of tools that would be used are a chop saw and other power tools.
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.
• Capable Of analyzing data as well as observing plant activities to identify problem issues.
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions
• Must be proficient in math and reading skills
• Clear understanding Of Plant Metrics and Objectives.
• Basic understanding of Production and Material Delivery Process' s.
• Capable of utilizing or learning to utilize tools such as Time Studies, Yamazumi Charts and 5 Why Analysis to pinpoint problems. 9. Ability to work well with Department Leadership to understand the desired improvement activity.
• Excellent communication skills between Production floor and related Departments.

SUMMARY:

Fabricates and assembles structural products such as racks for manufacturing parts according to job order or verbal instructions. Also helps with kaizen activities such gathering and interpreting data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
