Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Lead Operator for our Caldwell, ID plant to oversee daily production aligned with foreman and planners. You will train staff, monitor schedules, and drive performance on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety and quality standards, maintaining a clean workspace, and applying Lean practices (5S, TPM, Quick Changeovers) to minimize downtime. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of lead/supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and math abilities; clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with foreman to align production schedules and priorities.
• Train new employees on procedures and safety.
• Communicate daily production updates to Lead, Planner, and Plant Manager.
• Enforce safety and quality standards; maintain clean work areas.
• Implement Lean principles (5S, TPM, Quick Changeover) to reduce downtime.
• Address non-conformances through corrective actions per audits.

Responsibilities

About the Role

• Work closely with foreman to make certain everyone is aware of production schedules.
• Keep communication open with employees and managers.
• Trains new employees on various jobs.
• Discuss daily production with Lead, Production Planner, or Plant Manager.
• Enforce safety and work rules.
• Ensure quality specifications are being met on ALL product produced
• Ensure that work areas are kept clean daily
• Ensure Lean principles are being utilized; 5S, TPM, & Quick Changeover are used to eliminate downtime.
• Ensure corrective action takes place on all non-conformances in accordance with Pre/Post Shift Audits as well as Monthly Leadership Audits.
• Other duties assigned.

About You

We Require:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good organizational and math skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years experience in a lead/supervisory role.
