Job summary

UPS is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst to lead the design, development, and deployment of optimization solutions for final-mile delivery. The role combines mathematical programming, heuristics, ML, and high-performance computing to tackle large routing problems and productionize solutions with measurable impact.

The candidate will own the full lifecycle from problem formulation to deployment, validating models and tuning performance while partnering with software and data

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in a quantitative field.
• Experience designing and deploying complex optimization models.
• Proficiency with OR methods and vehicle routing problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of final-mile routing and resource allocation solutions.
• Translate requirements into mathematical models using LP, MIP, and related methods.
• Collaborate with software and data teams to deploy solutions in enterprise systems.
• Validate models with benchmarking and scenario analysis.
