Job summary

Gardenkeepers of Virginia LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations for both residential and commercial landscaping crews in Charlottesville, VA. You will keep crews organized, ensure equipment is maintained, and maintain high customer satisfaction by solving problems and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

The role requires managing multiple crews, reviewing contracts, and coordinating resources while reporting to ownership.

Qualifications

• Previous management-level experience required.
• Experience managing landscaping/grounds-maintenance crews preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple crews across residential and commercial properties.
• Schedule jobs and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and other resources.
• Review contracts and ensure crews understand scope and expectations.
• Inspect completed work and address quality-control issues.
• Serve as point of escalation for customers and field employees.
• Assist with crew layouts, job planning, and on-site customer meetings.
• Order supplies, materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Ensure vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained and ready for use.
• Keep offices, shop, and property neat and organized.
• Review potential new hires and participate in interviewing.
• Coordinate or provide training on equipment.
• Enforce company policies, safety requirements, and procedures.
• Address scheduling problems, equipment issues, customer concerns, and other operational challenges.
