Job summary

Lead Operating Engineer position at JLL for a community in Indian Land, SC. Role focuses on operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, with supervision of a small engineering team.

Schedule: 7am–4pm, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, work-order management, and safety compliance. On-site presence required at the Charlotte/Fort Mill locations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school, union training or college is desirable.
• EPA universal CFC certification or plan to obtain within first year with company help.

Lead Operating Engineer

What this job involves:

Develop your engineering career at JLL!

The Lead Operating Engineer leads, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This role may include assisting the Chief Engineer with providing direction to the team. You will work as part of an engineering team of 3 at a supporting facility maintenance at a community in Indian Land, SC.

Schedule: 7am-4pm Monday through Friday

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance (as allowed by licensing requirements)
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
• Maintain work order system daily and complete any service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of Engineering team
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
• Troubleshoot all building systems
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or driveStrong customer service skills
