Job summary

Our client, a steel manufacturing project in Apple Grove, WV, seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead on-site installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, switchgear, and PLC/control room systems.

This hands-on role requires ownership from planning through commissioning, direct collaboration with site leadership, and ensuring alignment with reliability goals. On-site, full-time work is expected in Apple Grove, WV.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience leading electrical installation projects from planning through commissioning.
• Knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, and PLC room infrastructure.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation of electrical systems including power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, and PLC/control room infrastructure.
• Serve as primary contact for electrical installation activity, coordinating contractors and vendors.
• Develop and manage the electrical installation schedule to minimize disruption to production.
• Collaborate with site leadership to optimize sequencing and layout for reliability and efficiency.
• Review drawings and PLC room specifications to guide field execution.
• Troubleshoot installation issues with electricians, millwrights, and controls technicians.
• Ensure electrical infrastructure meets power quality, grounding, and backup power requirements.
• Track progress, budget, and material logistics; escalate risks to site leadership.
• Support commissioning and startup activities including testing and handoff documentation.
• Maintain OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site safety compliance.
