Job summary

The Alaska Department of Revenue, Tax Division, is seeking an Oil and Gas Revenue Auditor 4 in Anchorage. This role leads a team auditing oil and gas production tax returns under AS 43.55 and involves regulation projects, tax system testing, and staff training. Primary duties include ensuring accurate filings and responsive taxpayer support.

Open to current Dept. of Revenue employees, with a focus on leadership, auditing excellence, and collaboration within the Oil and Gas Production Tax group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business with at least 18 semester hours in accounting/auditing/tax; business law or sampling credits may apply toward required hours.
• Two years of professional journey-level experience auditing and examining financial information and data specific to the oil and gas industry; equivalent experience accepted.
• CPA certification may substitute for the education requirement; there is no substitution for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the workload of a team of auditors to perform reviews and audits of taxpayers filing oil and gas production tax returns under AS 43.55.
• Participate in regulation projects; test and maintain the Tax System; conduct training; respond to taxpayer inquiries.
