Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking an Offset Sheetfed Pressman to direct the press support crew and handle setup, maintenance and operation of the press. You will report to the Operations Manager and ensure accurate color and registration throughout production.

The role requires 2+ years as a Pressman (or 5-7 years as a Second Pressman) and strong mechanical skills, with attention to safety and quality throughout the run.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Pressman or 5-7 years as a Second Pressman.
• In depth knowledge of the mechanics and capabilities of press.
• Able to accurately distinguish color variation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience running, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Able to understand written instructions and set up the press.
• Frequent lifting, bending, and turning.
• Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils.

Responsibilities

• Makes ready and operates offset sheetfed printing press.
• Examines job order for quantity, stock, colors and instructions.
• Inspects plates for defects and repairs or reports issues.
• Applies packing sheet to blanket cylinder to adjust thickness.
• Measures paper thickness and adjusts gap between blankets and cylinders.
• Regulates flow of ink and dampening solution to plate cylinder.
• Starts press and checks ink density and registration, adjusting as needed.
• Adjusts feeder and delivery mechanism.
• Removes worn rollers and adjusts roller pressure.
• Leads and trains the press crew and ensures safety.
• Performs maintenance and cleaning of press per rules.
