Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Press Operator A to operate sheet-fed offset printing presses, lead Assistant Press Operators, and ensure on-time production with color accuracy and quality control.

The role requires 1-2 years in manufacturing with multi-color printing, strong math, problem-solving, and teamwork; candidates must follow instructions, supervise with minimal supervision, and maintain safety and 5S/SQF standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of work-related experience in manufacturing running a multi-color printing press or equivalent.
• Good mathematical ability and understanding of measurements.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate sheet-fed offset printing press to print from lithographic plates.
• Lead, direct, and monitor Assistant Press Operators and feeder/jogger.
• Verify copy against customer approval and color standards.
• Set up plates, fountains, inks, and maintain color density and registration.
• Assist in maintenance and repairs of the press and act as trainer for junior roles.
• Comply with safety rules and 5S/SQF guidelines; report food safety concerns if applicable.
