Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our La Grange, IL team. The role requires at least 1 year of clinical experience and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (preferred).

You will mentor staff, support research, and promote evidence-based practice while delivering patient-centered care. Responsibilities include ensuring CMS compliance, contributing to performance improvements, and engaging with physicians and the community.

Job Description

• Performs all duties of an Occupational Therapist as per Occupational Therapist job description.


• Promotes a collaborative and supportive environment by serving as a mentor and positive role model for clinical staff and students, fostering professional growth, teamwork, and clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and engaging in autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, and clinical practice education within a peer group.


• Contributes to and participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.


• Troubleshoots and addresses questions from staff and others, resolving issues timely.


• Offers suggestions to improve services and viable solutions to resolve problems.


• Ensures compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation.


• Mentors staff, encourages staff development and educational opportunities.


• Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships.


• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.


• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.


• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.


• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.


• Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats with patients, staff, physicians, nurses, and administrators.


• Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of others
