Job summary

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is hiring an occupational and environmental medicine physician to serve as Program Director for the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency program and to hold a faculty rank of HS Clinical Assistant/Associate or Full Professor.

The salary range is $140,600 - $369,000 in APU5, with base pay determined by rank, step, and experience; the role balances program leadership with clinical practice and includes protected time for potential research

Qualifications

• Board-certified in occupational medicine and eligible for CA licensure.
• Minimum of three years teaching/education or administrative experience.
• Experience providing clinical consultations in occupational and environmental medicine.
• Prior leadership of an occupational medicine residency is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the residency program ensuring educational quality and accreditation standards.
• Provide clinical consultations on complex occupational and environmental medicine issues.
• Develop and implement teaching modules for residents and other faculty.
• Mentor residents and support professional development within the department.
• Engage in program evaluation, curriculum development, and faculty recruitment as needed.
