Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Charge Nurse for the OB GYN Emergency Department. You will provide expert patient care and act as a clinical resource, assisting in the development and evaluation of nursing care and treatment. This role requires close collaboration with nursing and medical staff and includes delegating care to auxiliary personnel.

Applicants should have a valid RN license, good communication skills, and be able to work in a team environment. Preferred qualifications include a BSN and two years of RN experience in a specified area. The position is full time.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN for at least one year.
• Two years of RN experience in a specified area preferred.
• Knowledge of staff nursing care procedures and protocols.
• Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and procedures for patients.
• Act as lead nurse, supervise and coach, train, and educate RNs and other nursing staff members.
• Ensure the safety of patients.
• Educate patients and families on their condition, diet, medication schedules, and side effects of treatments.
• Consult and report patient issues and concerns to medical and health-care staff.
