Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Mother/Baby Unit on the 3rd shift. The role supervises workflow, coordinates admissions and discharges, and ensures high-quality postpartum care for mothers and babies.

The Charge Nurse provides direct patient care, conducts rounds, and educates families while mentoring team staff in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license (BLS/ACLS or unit-specific certs).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; BSN completion within 5 years may be required.
• Minimum of one year Registered Nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise workflow and staff for a designated shift.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges on the unit.
• Provide direct patient care, rounds, and patient/family education.
• Model compassionate, respectful nursing practice and support healing.
