Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Florida state license as Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT certification required, NMTCB acceptable.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 3 years Nuclear Medicine technologist experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Nuclear Medicine Department workflow.
  • Train staff and ensure protocol adherence with clinical/research trials.
  • Collaborate with radiologists on protocol updates.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and maintain quality control.
  • Occasional weekends, variable hours, and on-call as required.

Moffitt has been recognized as a Best and Brightest Company to Work For in the Nation and is continually named one of the Tampa Bay Times’ Top Workplaces.SummaryUnder the broad direction of the Nuclear Medicine Authorized User, Director, MD and the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine, the lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist shall assist the supervisor in overseeing all technical aspects of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Moffitt Cancer Center. The lead technologist shall be responsible for the day to day workflow of the department, radiopharmaceutical dosing computer, staff assignments, oversee equipment quality control, clinical and research trials to include phantom and instrumentation requirements. The lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for technical training of the staff in correlation with clinical and research protocols with the ability to obtain diagnostic images as requested by the clinician on patients. Assist the supervisor with implementing research trials to include writing imaging protocols, attend site visits, and communicate with research coordinators. The lead technologist will act as liaison with the radiologists to the staff technologist with regards to technical issues or protocol updates. The lead technologist is responsible to oversee the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine Department in the absence of the supervisor. The lead technologist is able to make appropriate troubleshooting and critical decision making ability for proper maintenance and safety of the equipment. Must be able to work weekends, varied hours, scheduled and "ON CALL" hours.Credentials and Qualifications:Associate’s Degree – Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and AMA Accredited Nuclear Med ProgramFlorida state license required - Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)ARRT(N) OR CNMT through NMTCB certification or equivalent required.Current BLS required.Three (3) years previous experience as a Nuclear Med Technologist. Competent in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine Technology, anatomy and physiology, SPECT/CT, acquisition, processing, patient positioning, therapeutic procedures, ALARA procurement, storage, and disposal of radioactive materialsSalary Range$45.02 - $68.72Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
