Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Nuclear Licensing Engineer to support the development and execution of licensing strategies that ensure full regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Director of Licensing, this role involves interpreting nuclear regulations, preparing licensing submittals, coordinating with regulatory agencies (e.g., NRC), and supporting internal teams on compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and maintain licensing documents (applications, amendments, safety and environmental reports).
  • Interpret federal, state, and local regulations; assess impacts of regulatory changes.
  • Prepare responses to regulatory inquiries and participate in meetings with agencies.
  • Support inspections, audits, and internal compliance programs.
  • Track regulatory commitments and action items.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams.
  • Support training and promote regulatory awareness across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.).
  • 8+ years of nuclear industry or related technical experience.
  • Knowledge of NRC regulations, licensing processes, and NUREGs.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing licensing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Preferred

Advanced degree, experience working with NRC, familiarity with PRA, reactor systems, or safety/environmental regulations.
