You will identify and edit stories, publish content, and apply SEO and analytics to grow readership while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of journalism experience, including 2+ years in an editing role.
  • Experience managing reporters and producing standout breaking news and exclusives.
  • Tech-savvy with analytics tools, SEO, social media strategies for a digital audience.
  • Legal and compliance awareness to ensure content meets standards.
  • Ability to think fast under pressure in a high-volume newsroom.
  • Clear sense of The US Sun's voice and tone to keep it sharp.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the news team: assign stories, manage breaking news, uphold editorial standards, drive major stories.
  • Run morning editorial meetings and shape the daily news agenda.
  • Collaborate with SEO, audience, video, and design teams to maximize reach.
  • Coach and develop reporters and editors through feedback.
  • Prioritize original content and exclusives.
  • Monitor performance across platforms and adjust strategy as needed.
  • Plan forward for the news section and events.
  • Support weekend or evening coverage for major events.
