Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Network Engineer in Atlanta, GA. The primary responsibility is to handle major customer complaints related to networking, especially for high-profile clients like ARGO and Diamond. This role involves acting as the highest level of escalation, mediating with customers, and solving complex network issues. The engineer will also oversee an offshore monitoring team of approximately 9 members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and mentor a third-party offshore alert monitoring team to ensure 24/7 network health.
2. Serve as the SME and lead advisor for Managed Network Support, aligning with business goals.
3. Provide Tier-3 support, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex issues.
4. Lead incident resolution for high-priority outages.
5. Collaborate on network projects with various technical teams.
6. Support Tier-1 and Tier-2 support teams and sales engineering as a technical leader.
7. Review and improve network alert monitoring processes.
8. Lead team meetings, share knowledge, and set performance expectations.
9. Enhance operational processes for better efficiency and service quality.
10. Coordinate with vendors and support teams to ensure optimal support.
11. Act as a communication bridge between support teams, sales, and customers.
12. Stay updated on industry challenges and propose creative solutions.
13. Participate in on-call and off-hours support as needed.

Skills & Requirements

• Experience with FortiGate/Fortinet, SD WAN technologies like VeloCloud and Cisco Meraki, with thorough technical understanding.
• Bachelor’s degree with approximately 6 years of related experience, or alternative combinations as specified.
• Proven leadership skills managing teams and vendor relationships.
• Deep understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, and protocols such as BGP, VPN, VLAN, MPLS, etc.
• Experience with network performance monitoring tools.
• Ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members.
• Certifications like CCNP, JNCIP, VeloCloud VCP, or Fortinet NSE4 are preferred.

Additional experience in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing network performance is required.
