Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a Director of NERC CIP Compliance to establish and lead the company’s NERC CIP program. You will govern the program, interpret standards, manage evidence, test internal controls, and coordinate with Cyber Security, IT, OT, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams.

You are the SME for NERC CIP requirements, ensuring a defensible, repeatable, audit-ready posture and driving accountability across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years leading, managing, or supporting NERC CIP programs in power generation environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NERC CIP standards, compliance lifecycle, and audit expectations.
• Experience coordinating compliance activities across IT, OT, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, operationally feasible controls.
• Demonstrated ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the end-to-end NERC CIP compliance program, including interpretation and application of CIP standards.
• Define and manage evidence management framework with complete, traceable, audit-defensible artifacts.
• Prepare for audits and data requests; coordinate evidence collection and responses.
• Collaborate with OT engineering and operations to ensure controls support safe, reliable operations.
• Develop metrics and reporting on compliance status, risks, and remediation progress.
