Job summary

ATI Aviation is seeking an experienced Non Destructive Evaluation Technician / Department Lead to manage and support the daily operations of the NDE Department in Cleveland, Ohio. This hands-on role requires ownership of the department's workflow, equipment, consumables, documentation, and production requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with QA, QC, engineering, production management, and shop personnel to ensure inspections are completed safely, accurately, and in compliance

Qualifications

• Current or previous certification and documented qualification in Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• Current or previous certification and documented qualification in Liquid Penetrant Inspection.
• Strong understanding of NDE inspection techniques, equipment, materials, and processing requirements.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures, specifications, drawings, and other approved technical data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Aerospace, aviation maintenance, MRO, or FAA regulated repair experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily workflow and operations of the NDE Department.
• Perform Magnetic Particle Inspection using wet fluorescent and dry powder methods.
• Perform Liquid Penetrant Inspection using water washable fluorescent methods.
• Set up and safely operate a large fluorescent magnetic particle inspection bench while ensuring proper techniques.
• Perform inspections in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, data, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain NDE equipment, materials, and consumables and ensure tanks/solutions are serviced as needed.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, equipment records, process documentation, and department data using MS Office/Excel.
• Coordinate inspection priorities with Quality, engineering, management, and shop departments.
• Operate an overhead crane or complete required training.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized NDE work area.
• Support overtime when necessary to meet customer and production requirements.
