Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-K Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a deep understanding of the developmental needs of children ages 4-5.

As a North Carolina Pre-K Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, age-appropriate education that promotes intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. You will create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic and personal growth of each child, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan, organize, and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 4-5, in alignment with North Carolina's Pre-K guidelines and early learning standards.
  2. Provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued.
  3. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
  4. Conduct regular assessments of each child’s progress, tracking development in areas such as language, literacy, math, social skills, and physical development.
  5. Use a variety of teaching methods and learning tools, including hands-on activities, creative arts, music, and structured play to engage children in learning.
  6. Implement individualized instruction to meet the diverse needs of each child, including those with special needs or language barriers.
  7. Maintain classroom order and discipline in a positive and supportive manner, ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful environment.
  8. Provide guidance and support for children’s emotional and social development, helping them build self-confidence and positive peer relationships.
  9. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, development, and any concerns.
  10. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education practices and regulations.
  11. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to early childhood education and child care.
Qualifications
  1. NC Birth-Kindergarten (BK) licensure
  2. Experience working with children in a preschool or Pre-K setting, preferably with children ages 4-5
  3. Knowledge of North Carolina Pre-K guidelines and early childhood learning standards
  4. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals
