Job summary

Park Ridge Park District is seeking a Lead Instructor for nature programming at Wildwood Nature Center in Park Ridge, IL. You will plan, implement, and lead daily classroom activities for ages 2-12, with environmental education and outdoor exploration.

You will supervise assistant instructors, maintain records and communicate with parents, and occasionally lead hikes of 30-90 minutes in all weather. Evening and weekend hours are required, averaging 5-20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Requires at least two years of experience supervising children and young adults.
• Ability to lead groups on 30-90 minute nature hikes in all weather.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and lead day-to-day classroom activities with environmental education.
• Provide direction and coaching to assistant instructors and maintain records.
• Communicate regularly with parents about progress and activities.
