Job summary

CONMED is seeking a skilled Machining Leader in Largo, FL to provide technical leadership for CNC operations and metrology processes. You will mentor machinists, train new operators in metrology, and develop fixtures and set-ups for new products.

You will work with multi-axis CNC machines and Mazatrol programs to produce high-quality parts with tight tolerances. The role requires extensive experience (10+ years) in a machining environment, blueprints literacy, and the ability to troubleshoot

Qualifications

• Requires extensive experience in CNC machining and metrology.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric tolerances.
• Proficient with multi-axis CNC programs and Mazatrol lathe programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to less experienced employees.
• Act as a first point of contact for Machining Associate, Operators, and Level l Machinists as a Section Leader.
• Train Machining Associates/Operators in metrology.
• Sketch/fixture development for new products and process changes.
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC/manual equipment to fabricate components.
• Maintain tight tolerances and production rates.
• Identify and resolve machining problems to ensure defect-free parts.
• Verify/validate new set-up programs for pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first article inspections at the metrology skill level.
