Job description


Responsibilities

The Lead MRI Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training. Lead responsibilities include serving as a unit lead technologist supporting department techs and addressing shift concerns as appropriate. Assists the imaging services leaders in meeting department satisfaction, Regulatory, and budgetary goals. Working in collaboration with leadership, coordinates the development, review and /or approval of policy and procedures, emergency preparedness, film badge reports, staff training, radiation exposure concerns and radiation safety committee and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

Required:

* RO (State Radiography License) and One of: ARRT-R, ARRT-N or CNMT and Must obtain One of: ARRT-MR or AMRIT within 1 year of hire

OR

* One of: RDMS or ARRT-S and Must obtain One of: ARRT-MR or ARMRIT within 1 year of hire

OR

* One of: ARRT-MR or ARMRIT

Desired:

  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) OR Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Must obtain credential within 12 months of hire. OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist OR Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) OR Certified MRI Technologist
