Job summary

GE HealthCare in Waukesha, Wisconsin is seeking a Lead Application Engineer to develop MR pulse-sequence and clinical application capabilities, improving image quality, workflow, and data acquisition efficiency. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary MR physics and software team to translate clinical needs into new MR applications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant professional or research experience.
• Strong MR physics and imaging fundamentals.
• Experience in Linux development environments.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for software development.
• Ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate new MR pulse-sequence and application features.
• Improve MR image quality, workflow, and data-acquisition efficiency.
• Collaborate with Marketing, customers, researchers, and engineering teams to translate needs into requirements.
• Perform pulse-sequence implementation and feasibility testing in clinical and development environments.
• Apply statistical/quantitative analysis to evaluate performance and improve software quality.
• Develop, test, and integrate software components into MR systems per software development policies.
• Troubleshoot issues using MR physics, imaging fundamentals, and data-driven analysis.
• Communicate findings, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
• Move application development from concept through implementation and integration.
