Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Principal Motors Engineer to lead the design and verification of motor solutions for power tools. You will collaborate with global teams to create and execute test plans, drive performance improvements, and guide strategic direction for motor technology across products.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on testing, and deep knowledge of motor design, with travel up to 10% and a focus on delivering best-in-class Milwaukee motors worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years in a related design field.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience with CAD and motor theory.
• Knowledge of brushless DC motors and motor controls.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design clean-sheet motor designs for brushed, brushless DC, and AC universal motors.
• Lead a team of engineers through prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Establish and drive motor test regimens.
• Perform experiments, simulations, and data analysis.
• Drive supplier relationships to meet specs.
• Mentor team in engineering best practices.
• Communicate plans and risk to senior leadership.
• Maintain program roadmaps and resource plans.
