Job summary

WJBF seeks an Anchor/Reporter to co-anchor “Good Morning Augusta” from 4:30 a.m. until 7 a.m., Monday–Friday, in Augusta, GA. The candidate will contribute stories to later newscasts and serve as a newsroom and community leader.

Applicants must provide a demo reel and hold a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience. Two years of news experience, strong journalistic judgment, and the ability to coach others are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to ad lib.
• Minimum two years in news reporting or anchoring.
• Strong news judgment and knowledge of local/national current events.
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Co-anchor Good Morning Augusta from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday–Friday.
• Contribute stories to later newscasts.
• Produce content and coordinate with newsroom team.
• Write, edit, research and coordinate news programming.
• Respond to breaking news and urgent situations.
• Engage with viewers on the website and social platforms.
