Wellan Montessori School in Newton, MA is seeking a Lead Montessori Teacher for Early Childhood (ages 3-6) to cover a maternity leave starting in Fall 2026. You will plan and implement curriculum, supervise the classroom with a co-teacher, and foster an orderly, challenging learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds a related degree, EEC Preschool Lead Teacher certification, Montessori certification for 3–6 or in training, and prior Montessori experience.

Description

Wellan Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our preschool and Kindergarten programs (ages 3 - 6 years). This is a full-time position covering a maternity leave, scheduled to begin in the Fall and likely to run through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. A lead Early Childhood Montessori teacher oversees all aspects of the classroom operation, including planning/implementing curriculum and communicating with families, while working with a co-teacher to ensure classroom standards are met consistently. The teacher must excel at preparing the environment, taking shared responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and challenging learning environment.
