Wellan Montessori School in Newton Centre, MA, seeks a lead Early Childhood Montessori teacher to cover a maternity leave in Fall 2026, for ages 3-6. The role partners with a co-teacher to plan and implement curriculum, communicate with families, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Wellan Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our preschool and Kindergarten programs (ages 3 - 6 years). This is a full-time position covering a maternity leave, scheduled to begin in the Fall and likely to run through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. A lead Early Childhood Montessori teacher oversees all aspects of the classroom operation, including planning/implementing curriculum and communicating with families, while working with a co-teacher to ensure classroom standards are met consistently. The teacher must excel at preparing the environment, taking shared responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and appropriately challenging learning environment for children in the class.
Successful candidates will be patient, well organized, flexible, professional, and dependable; have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to function in a cooperative teaching environment; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children learn, socialize, explore, and grow together. Experience working in a Montessori classroom is required, with certification for ages 3-6 preferred.
