Sonnet Montessori in Iowa is seeking a Lead Educator to provide a nurturing, positive, and innovative learning environment for young children. You will plan curricula, assess progress, and communicate regularly with families to support each child’s growth.

The role emphasizes Montessori philosophy, classroom management, and ongoing professional development, with collaboration among parents and staff to foster a love of learning and development.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS qualifications for a Lead Teacher in a licensed child care center.
• Experience in Montessori or early childhood setting is required.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and supervise children.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Observe and assess child development and tailor instruction.
• Establish a positive, safe classroom culture.
• Maintain daily communication with parents via the app and other channels.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration with staff.
