Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead a team on a semiconductor manufacturing plant project in New Albany, OH. You will supervise superintendents and craft professionals, coordinate subcontract work, and ensure adherence to policies, schedules and budgets.

You will direct field activities, plan workforce requirements, oversee tool and equipment usage, and ensure safety and quality across the site.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.

• Leadership / Supervision: Discipline supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or area/facility.
• Planning / Productivity: Determines workforce requirements and coordinates operational plans.
• Tools, Materials & Equipment: Oversees tool and equipment usage and ensures craft have tools.
• Safety & Quality: Ensures design documents are followed and operations meet specs, schedules and budgets.
• Technical: Works with field engineers, foremen and craft professionals to interpret engineering and vendor documents.

Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-BM1

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision of superintendents supporting 50 to 100 craft or Responsible for Area/Facility)

• Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire)
• Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire)

Planning / Productivity

• Determines workforce requirements.
• Coordinates established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

• Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site.
• Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
• Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of structural steel construction, including material control, erection planning, connections, bolting, welding interfaces, alignment, plumbing, decking interfaces, inspection, testing, and acceptance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, mentor, and develop multiple Structural Superintendents, Craft Professionals, and subcontractors in a large, schedule-driven project environment.
• Extensive knowledge of rigging and heavy transport practices as well as rigging and transport plans.
