Job summary

Ericsson Inc. in Santa Clara is seeking a Principal Modem Architect to own the complete modem firmware architecture for LGA modules and to drive the software stack integration across platform teams.

You will define architectural guidelines for baseband, RF, and power management, mentor engineers, and influence long-term technology directions for high-performance 5G platforms deployed globally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in embedded systems architecture, with 3+ years in modem or wireless domains.
• Hands-on experience with modem chipset platforms.
• Deep understanding of modem subsystem architecture incl. ARM cores, DSP, and hardware accelerators.
• Strong knowledge of modem software stacks and integration models.

Responsibilities

• Own and define end-to-end modem firmware architecture for LGA modules.
• Lead modem software stack integration, customization, and upgrade strategy.
• Define architectural guidelines for baseband, RF, power management, and system interfaces.
• Drive cross-team technical alignment across firmware, hardware, RF, and platform teams.
• Serve as primary technical contact with modem chipset and hardware partners.
• Review and guide complex design decisions, trade-offs, and performance optimizations.
