Job summary

MITRE seeks an experienced Lead Modeling and Simulation Analyst to support national security missions. You will partner with operational stakeholders to develop advanced modeling and simulation tools, integrating mathematics, physics, engineering, and programming to produce actionable insights for sponsor needs.

You will tackle complex problems at the intersection of technology and national security while expanding your skills through hands-on work.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s, or 6+ years with Master’s, or PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience with operational analysis tools (e.g., AFSIM, STK, NGTS, STORM).
• Experience with developing and debugging physics-based modeling and simulation tools.
• Experience in conducting quantitative analysis of simulation results to extract insights.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Julia, Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica.
• Must have an active Secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI; U.S. citizenship required.
• Minimum on-site presence of 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and application of modeling and simulation tools by providing technical expertise.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine methodologies and address technical challenges.
• Shape project strategies by identifying innovative techniques to improve modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders to align with mission goals.
• Support collaboration across teams to enhance effectiveness and scalability of modeling and analysis initiatives.
