Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a senior mobile platform leader to design and evolve a next-generation mobile stack across iOS and Android. You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and guide teams building scalable, secure apps with AI-enabled capabilities.

You will work remotely within the U.S., with in-office presence required in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. four days a week for local hires.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on mobile apps.
• 3+ years in cross-platform or native mobile development.
• 2+ years leading large-scale mobile initiatives.
• Experience architecting scalable mobile platforms.
• Experience with APIs, cloud, CI/CD, modern engineering practices.
• Applied AI capabilities within software delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap across cross-platform (React Native) and native (iOS, Android).
• Deliver clean, scalable mobile code and establish shared libraries and SDKs.
• Lead the adoption and modernization of React Native and native capabilities.
• Ensure high-performance, secure mobile applications across enterprise platforms.
• Design and integrate AI-powered capabilities to address business challenges securely.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
• Partner with product, backend, and design teams for seamless experiences.
• Evaluate trends and technologies to inform design and innovation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the mobile team.
