Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Principal Research Scientist (Recommender Systems) to lead large ML projects that advance personalized recommendations and search for HBO Max. You will guide ML researchers and engineers, partner with product, engineering, and marketing, and drive AI innovations across the organization.

You will mentor a high‑perform team, develop scalable ML systems, and present modeling results to senior leadership, shaping the direction of user experience and growth at WBD.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in a quantitative field with strong academic foundations.
• 8+ years of work experience in Machine Learning, AI and Data Science with a track record of impact.
• Strong experience in recommender, personalization, collaboration filtering and information retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Develop data science solutions using ML and deep learning to support product, engineering and marketing.
• Mentor the team in modern ML approaches and introduce new technologies.
• Design and develop scalable ML systems with ML engineering leadership.
• Identify data science opportunities delivering business value.
• Shape ML/AI roadmap and communicate with stakeholders to drive adoption.
