Warner Bros. Discovery in San Francisco seeks a Principal Research Scientist (Recommender Systems) to lead large ML projects, develop innovative algorithms, and mentor ML/AI researchers and engineers toward scalable solutions for HBO Max.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as CS/Math/Engineering (PhD preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in ML/AI/Data Science with track record of impact.
• Expertise in recommender/personalization systems and information retrieval.
• Strong ML/DL/statistical modeling skills (causal inference, ensembles, neural nets, NLP, RL).
• Experience with large language model based techniques for recommender systems.
• Proficiency with SQL and big data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Spark, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency with Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Experience deploying ML models and driving business impact.

• Mentor team and introduce new ML technologies and processes.
• Collaborate with ML engineering to design scalable ML systems.
