Job summary

Paramount Pictures in Burbank, CA is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Operations Engineer to own the operational excellence of personalization and recommendation ML systems. You will define observability, governance, and deployment safety, partnering with ML engineers, DevOps, and data teams to ensure reliable, scalable ML production.

The role focuses on leading strategy for model health, data quality, incident response, and lineage, driving adoption of model registries and metadata tooling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, ML platform, applied ML, MLOps, data platform, reliability engineering, or a related technical role.
• Experience operating production ML systems with monitoring, deployment, incident response, model validation, data quality, or reliability ownership.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams and influencing architecture, tooling, standards, or adoption.
• Hands-on experience with model registries, feature stores, ML metadata systems, production monitoring, and ML observability platforms.
• Solid knowledge of end-to-end ML systems including training data, features, artifacts, and post-deployment metrics.

Responsibilities

• Own the ML production reliability strategy and set the standards for model health and deployment safety.
• Define the operational strategy for production ML systems including monitoring, traceability, incident response, and post-deployment validation.
• Lead governance of model traceability, registry adoption, and metadata tooling across ML teams.
• Build end-to-end ML observability spanning data arrival, feature freshness, distribution stability, ranking behavior, and latency.
• Define automated gates to prevent bad models or data from production and establish canary strategies and release health reviews.
• Own incident response practices for ML systems, including rollback playbooks, severity definitions, and post-mortems.
