Job summary

Universal Music Group is building an Applied AI and Machine Learning function to power revenue forecasting, artist and catalog intelligence, and rights management. This is a senior IC role focused on reproducible development, evaluation, safe deployment, observability, and cost efficiency.

You will lead end-to-end ML/LLM workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive practical AI solutions that scale across business units and global regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software, machine learning, data, or platform engineering with ownership of production systems and high-impact problems.
• Experience with modern AI systems, including LLM-based workflows, retrieval, grounding, structured generation, tool use, safety controls, and human review.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including testing, code review, version control, debugging, and maintainable design.

Responsibilities

• Lead MLOps & production infrastructure initiatives from framing to deployment, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Build and operate ML/LLM workflows with retrieval, grounding, APIs, and CI/CD.
• Develop data pipelines from streaming and catalog data to support models.
• Collaborate with ML scientists, data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
