Overview
Lead Mitigation Technician (Crew Chief Level) at Insurcomm Restoration | Fortify Companies — Field-Based, Full-Time position based in Southampton, NJ. Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites.
- Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage from fire, water, mold, and weather-related events.
- Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards.
- Develop drying plans and monitor progress to ensure proper equipment placement and moisture goals are met.
- Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
- Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
- Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
- Document job progress through photos, moisture readings, and detailed notes using PSA and other required software.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, adjusters, and internal teams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times; ensure proper setup, operation, cleaning, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Train and mentor Mitigation Technicians to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use.
Qualifications
- Required:
- IICRC WRT certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Prior experience in restoration, mitigation, or construction.
- Ability to lead a crew and manage job-site workflow.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer-service mindset and social awareness.
- Acceptable driving record and reliable attendance/punctuality.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch).
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Preferred:
- AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) certification.
- Experience with PSA or similar job-management platforms.
- Experience training or mentoring team members.
