Job summary

Fortify Companies is seeking a Lead Mitigation Technician (Crew Chief level) to take charge on emergency restoration projects in Hooksett, NH. You will lead crews, ensure safety and quality, and drive efficient execution in line with company and IICRC standards.

You’ll respond to emergencies, supervise water extraction and drying, mentor technicians, and coordinate protection of contents. This role offers field-based, full-time work with strong growth potential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • IICRC WRT certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
  • Prior experience in restoration, mitigation, or construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a crew and manage job site workflow.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites.
  • Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage from fire, water, mold, and weather events.
  • Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services per IICRC standards.
  • Develop drying plans and monitor progress to meet moisture goals.
  • Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely and efficiently.
  • Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
  • Document job progress with photos, moisture readings, and notes using PSA and other software.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, adjusters, and internal teams.

About the Job

As a Lead Mitigation Technician, you will take charge on emergency restoration projects for families and businesses affected by fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage. You are not only on the front lines of recovery—you lead the crew, set the standard for safety and professionalism, and ensure projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with company and IICRC standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites
  • Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather-related eventsPerform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards
  • Develop drying plans and monitor progress to ensure proper equipment placement and moisture goals are met
  • Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently
  • Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces
  • Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items
  • Document job progress through photos, moisture readings, and detailed notes using PSA and other required software
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, adjusters, and internal teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, cleaning, and storage of tools and equipment
  • Train and mentor Mitigation Technicians to uphold quality and safety standards
  • Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the team and business.

Preferred
  • ASD (Applied Structural Drying) certification
  • Experience with PSA or similar job management platforms
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
