Job summary

The Boeing Company in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Mission Engineering Manager (SW) to lead a team of about 15 engineers in Mission Engineering and Flight Operations for a government satellite program. This on-site role requires a TS/SCI clearance and strong leadership skills to drive staff development and program success.

You will provide technical guidance, manage staffing and cost accounts, and engage with government customers while advancing mission assurance and system integrity for space

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph; US citizenship required.
• BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment.
• Spacecraft operations and/or engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the intelligence community interfacing with government customers.
• At least one year of leadership experience or completed Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Flight Operations and/or Mission Engineering Manager in staffing and cost account management for a team of ~15 engineers.
• Develop, motivate and coach staff to ensure engagement and program success.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to Mission Engineering or Flight Operations teams for a satellite constellation.
• Manage special projects and taskers across the team.
• Lead the team through system anomaly and problem resolution processes.
• Assess technical status of critical activities and communicate to management.
• Perform quality checks to ensure processes and procedures are in place.
• Oversee creation and implementation of process improvements.
• Support development of organizational goals and strategy.
• Interface with external engineering organizations to share expertise and lessons learned.
