Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Principal Mission Design & Analysis Engineer in Colorado to lead mission modeling, simulation, and system-level studies for spacecraft programs. You will steer teams, define driving requirements, and develop novel modeling tools while presenting results to customers and leadership.

Ideal candidates bring advanced mission design expertise, DRM development experience, and proficiency with STK, SysML, Matlab, Python, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically 15+ years of related experience.
• Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance required.
• Expert in mission design, modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Experience with DRM development and mission objectives.
• Ability to derive requirements from modeling and simulation results.
• Proven ability to trade mission attributes for cost and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, modeling, and simulation of system performance for constellation design.
• Oversee large team modeling efforts and data analysis.
• Develop new modeling tools to produce relevant results.
• Present mission models to team, customers, and executives.
• Lead mission performance validation and verification efforts.
• Support business development with data-driven recommendations.
• Contribute to corporate mission design tools, policies, and processes.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines.
• Communicate with engineers to drive products and outcomes.
