Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Interiors Architect/Interior Designer to lead interior design for complex data center and mission-critical facilities, including offices, control rooms, operations centers, and employee amenities. You’ll develop space plans, renderings, finish schedules, and FF&E selections while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in interior architecture/design.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
• Experience developing construction documents and detailed specs.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA, life safety, and architectural specs.
• FF&E specification and finish material selection expertise.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering/design teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design efforts for mission-critical and data center projects from programming through construction administration.
• Develop space planning and interior design solutions for offices, control rooms, operations centers, security, collaboration, training, and employee amenity spaces.
• Create space plans, renderings, mood boards, and finish presentation materials.
• Prepare and coordinate architectural construction documents, specifications, and technical details.
• Select and specify finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Coordinate finish selections, interior materials, wayfinding concepts, and workplace standards.
• Participate in client meetings, programming sessions, design reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
• Collaborate with architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, and telecommunications disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, accessibility, life safety standards, and design guidelines.
• Support BIM coordination and multidisciplinary model reviews.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and field conditions.
• Perform site visits and construction observations to verify design intent and quality.
• Mentor junior architects and designers while providing technical leadership.
• Assist with proposal development, design pursuits, and client relationship activities.
