Job summary

JRC Integrated Systems is hiring a Conventional Safety & Certification lead for the LOC branch to plan and manage conventional safety requirements, oversee implementation, and support certification for LOC missiles. The role requires coordinating safety reviews across flight-system and missile levels and interfacing with DoD processes.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in defense system engineering on MDAP programs, strong knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years in defense system engineering on an MDAP.
• Deep knowledge of DoD 5000.69 and weapon safety processes.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E and system safety implementation.

Responsibilities

• Assess missile safety policy and translate to verifiable requirements.
• Oversee safety feature implementation in designs.
• Represent LOC missile equities at safety forums.
• Collaborate with external partners on safety features and compliance.
• Support safety certification activities and readiness assessments.
• Mitigate technical risks across lifecycle.
• Prepare materials for safety reviews and certification.
• Collaborate with WISE team for NOSSA and WSSERB certifications.
