An established industry player in the community is seeking a Lead Minister to inspire and guide its congregation. This full-time role requires a passionate individual who can prepare and deliver engaging sermons, work collaboratively with the worship team, and actively reach out to the community, especially young families. The ideal candidate will possess a servant's heart, a commitment to continuous growth, and the ability to connect with diverse members of the congregation. Located 80 miles Northeast of Denver, Morgan County has a population of 25,000 and is an ag-based economy. The Fort Morgan community offers numerous recreational opportunities like a new field house, 2 golf courses, a disc golf course, river walking trail, and boating and fishing lakes. We are 90 minutes away from some of the best winter sports activities in the country. Christ’s Church is a congregation of about 50-70 on a given Sunday with about 100 members. We are debt-free; we have a heart for mission work locally and worldwide. We are a multi-generational congregation with numerous activities each week that bring the community to our building.
We are looking for someone who feels the call of God to preach and teach. The ideal candidate can prepare, schedule, and deliver sermons and classes in an energetic, kind, and passionate manner. This person should work with the worship team to bring a unified message, be a man of prayer, have a heart of a servant, and be committed to continuous study and growth. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to reach out into the community and especially to young families.
This person will work alongside the elders and is expected to communicate regularly with them. The successful candidate will also perform funerals, weddings, and counsel those involved. There may be other tasks that need to be done, and all team members, including this position, will pitch in to complete them. Musical ability would be a plus but is not required. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $50K, and there may be possible help with moving expenses to establish a residence. The current preacher is retiring after 24 years with the congregation and will retire when we find his replacement.
