Job summary

Stantec seeks a Mine Hoisting and Shaft Specialist Design Engineer to lead hoisting and shaft design on complex, large-scale projects across the full lifecycle. The role covers international exposure and requires developing and implementing best-in-class engineering practices, tools, and innovations.

Based in-office in the US with some remote flexibility, you will mentor junior staff, coordinate with various teams, and manage design scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the USA, or able to be licensed within 6 months of hire.
• 10–15 years of experience with shaft and hoist construction or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead shaft and hoisting system designs on projects.
• Define project scope, budget, and design approaches.
• Deliver quality work within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform quality control on engineering deliverables in hoisting design space.
• Provide Professional Engineering sign-off on designs for construction in the USA.
